It Feels Like Forever

 

It feels like forever since I played with my toys, but early last week I got out my Inktense Blocks and painted a few bouquets.


These are so much fun.


I try to remember to take a few pictures of bouquets every time I go to the grocery store.

"Greek" Bookmarks


The partial letters I learned recently look a bit like Greek letters, so I used them to write some Greek words on bookmarks.  I used watercolor, mixing the colors directly in the nib.

More Alisa Burke Inspiration


Alisa Burke recently did a fabulous demonstration about Mixing Pastels and Water and water, which inspired me to give it a try.  Who knew this was possible?

Calligraphy Inspiration


The Westcoast Calligraphy Society featured a presentation on Laurie Doctor in February.  We learned her alphabet of partial letters, which she uses to create patterns.  It is like a code - the three blocks of partial letters shown in this piece actually do spell out lines from our national anthem, O Canada!
