A Drive in the Country

These are artist trading cards for our upcoming Vancouver swap.  I stamped the Tim Holtz car on a gelli print, and added the rest with pencil crayon.

I used two different gelli prints; here is the second one:

A Little Encouragement

Don't underestimate the power of a little encouragement.

A lovely lady at the Vancouver Artist Trading Card Group, Rose, told me that she loved the ATC's I had made with postage stamps.

That's all it took.

Before I knew it, I'd made six new ones!

How can I offer encouragement today?  A kind word to a friend or stranger.....a "like" or a "heart" on social media.....a comment on a blog - there are lots of ways!  I'll try to remember to take the time.

Postage Stamps

I've been playing around with postage stamps recently.  I bought a grab bag of cancelled stamps years ago, thinking that they would make good collage elements.  In the recent spirit of "using up stuff"  I got them out and made some artist trading cards.

My Favorite City

I have been very fortunate to visit Europe several times.  My favorite city will likely always be Paris, and the Eiffel Tower is one of my favorite iconic images.

I had an irresistible urge to stamp this Tim Holtz stamp on scrapbook paper from the same pad.  Each one has a slightly different pattern on it.

Playing with Paisley

These stamps are a big set of "build it yourself" paisleys by Autumn Leaves.  I stamped them all in pigment ink, including the solid ones that colour the inside.  I decided to have a good session with them as part of my "Use Every Stamp" challenge.

Thanks for all your wonderful comments on "My Home" Artist Trading Cards,  They are very encouraging.

ATC's for the Vintage Swap

We've recently added some "make art" time to our Vancouver ATC swap, and last month I collaged together some backgrounds to use for more ATC's.  All I had to do was add some random clip art (Lisa's Altered Art, Luna Girls, Dover, and various unknown sources) and I've got more ATC's, this time for the Vintage Swap!

Use Every Stamp 2013

I signed up for a free class at the Creative Classroom called "Use Every Stamp 2013".  You can read about it on this blog.   I've been trying to find a way to use my stamp collection more and I thought it might help.  Here's a couple of art journal pages I made in January that use stamps, as well as a bookmark:
