Speaking of Grab Bags

Years ago (at Eatons department store!), I bought a grab bag of postage stamps.  The bag included some Christmas stamps, and they inspired these mosaic cards.

A Little Bird Told Me

The songbirds were frolicking in the sunshine today, singing as they scattered snow from the heavily laden trees.  Birds always inspire me, and the colours in this are screaming spring, aren't they?

The Lid on My Scrap Box Can Finally Close!

That doesn't mean that I'll stop any time soon, though.  I'm enjoying making these mosaics so much that I made a few Artist Trading Cards for the Vancouver swap.  The colour theme is "fire".

And once I got bored with "fire" I did a few "water" ones.

Thanks for being here.  I hope that I inspire someone today.

Silly Scraps Saturday

Mosaic bookmarks are a great way to use up scraps!  These ones were inspired by a lovely scrapbook paper that has watercolor-like blocks of color.  Here are the scraps I used:

Rediscovering Peel-Offs

I've been playing with Magenta Peel-Off stickers lately.  These are watercolored with Inktense Pencils on watercolor paper.

They make a nice addition to the mosaic bookmarks I've been making lately.  These will all get given away.

I made these two from a gift of scrapbook scraps.  I'll give them back to the sweet gift givers.

Silly Scraps Saturday

I took a page from Stamping Mathilda's playbook and made these bookmarks while all the scraps from the recent Christmas cards were still on my desk.  That worked out well - all the color matching was done!

More Crazy Quilts

I've made a few more Crazy Paper Quilt ATC's for the upcoming Vancouver ATC Swap.

I used a few different things for focal points (the starting point for the quilt), like postage stamps and pictures of flowers.

I added embroidery to a few.

And of course, there had to be another bird:

Paper Mosaics

Cleaning up my desk of red bird scraps from my earlier project, I decided to make a few paper mosaics. They're easy and fun!
