Useful Paper Crafts
When the greeting card box is full, I look for another useful way to create with paper and stamps. That's when the bookmarks get made. Am I too practical or what?

Still Copying My Older Sister
My sister, Dianne, sent me a card recently. Isn't it beautiful?
I liked it so much that I made my own version:

International ATC Exhibition
Last Saturday was the final day of the Vancouver International Artist Trading Card Exhibition, and Sunday was the day for trading. Although I didn't clue into this exciting Olympic event in time to enter my ATC's into the exhibition, the organizer was kind enough to let me swap ATC's. So, I packed up a stack of ATC's and swamped them for these beauties:
These come from places far and wide, including Australia, Turkey, Germany, USA, England, and closer to home all over Canada. They display talents in a variety of mediums - watercolour, drawing, pencil crayon, lino printing, acrylic, pen and ink, collage, and textiles.

Another Olympic Moment - an ATC Exhibition and Demonstration
I finally found my opportunity to participate in the Vancouver 2010 Olympics, instead of just walking around gawking at stuff. As part of the Cultural Olympiad, the City of Vancouver sponsored an International Artist Trading Card ("ATC") Exhibition. More information about that can be found here.
As part of the Exhibition, the organizers held a demonstration down at one of my favourite art supply stores, RubyDog's Art House, and I popped in and made a couple of ATC's.
I also participated in an "ATC jam" or "Round Robin", and three of us collaborated on this series of cards:
I'm sorry that I didn't know more about the Exhibition earlier so that I could pass the word around ahead of time, but the organizers were kind enough to let me participate in the final swap. I'll post the fantastic ATC's I received in another post.
