Still Inspired

I thought I was finished with the Christmas cards, but I continue to be inspired by grids and what is in my stash.

I love these little stamps by Studio G but I've never figured out how to use them.  It turns out they go nicely on this paper that I love but couldn't figure out either!

Puzzle Stamps

I've always loved Magenta images, and their puzzle stamps are among my favorites.

It was this photo from growveg.com that inspired me to get out the puzzle stamps.

This photo is inspiring me still to do some other things - but Christmas cards first!

Speaking of Grab Bags

Years ago (at Eatons department store!), I bought a grab bag of postage stamps.  The bag included some Christmas stamps, and they inspired these mosaic cards.

Christmas Cards

I started my 2023 Christmas cards recently, hoping to reduce the "deadline pressure" that I felt last year.

I'm using all kinds of fun paper that I never had inspiration to use before.  This matching cardstock and decorative paper was part of a "grab bag" that I bought years ago.  Unfortunately, there wasn't enough of the card stock to make cards out of, but suddenly I had the idea to use them for trees!

Trucks Again?

I was looking at old truck drawings yesterday and the experience made me want to draw another. This first one isn't any less wonky than the old ones!,

First Snowdrop Sighting of 2023

The first snowdrop sighting is always a highlight of January.  I commemorated this year's first sighting in an older teeny tiny journal I found on the shelf.  I made this journal in one of Joanne Sharpe's classes and I added a little collage before painting the snowdrops.  Lots of fun!

Teeny Tiny Landscape Journal

I attended a live Watercolors Made Simple workshop and and was captivated by what Nicki was doing over the Christmas holidays.  She wanted to do something a little different and turned to making small watercolor journals.  They were beautiful and inspiring, so I decided  to do the same.

One of my favorite watercolor techniques is wet-on-wet landscapes, so I'm devoting an entire journal to doing them.

This one was inspired by this week's photo from the Creighton Online Spiritual Retreat I'm doing right now.  I can see there might be a lot of sunset paintings in this journal.
