I've been reorganizing my Artist Trading Card binders so that each artist has a page dedicated to their art, rather than having them presented in date order.  This has inspired me to create a few ATC's of my own and has rekindled a love for some of my favorite rubber stamps:

Is it Spring Yet?



 

I wanted to try a colouring a few more stamped images with watercolour pencil so I stamped a few scenes using my Maryse Carrier Printemps set.  It was fun to make scenes out of these little stamps but as I'm writing this I feel like I should be drawing my own.  Then I could stick to more seasonal subjects LOL.  I'm loving the watercolour pencils though!

I really like this next card, by Laura Williams.  The bird houses are stamped on different coloured papers and then cut out.

I thought I would do the same thing, but my birdhouse stamp suited some pencil crayon colouring.

One Cool Kitty

This cool kitty is a Maryse Carrier stamp, coloured with Prismacolors.

The words are from inque boutique.

Twinkle Twinkle

The ball and stick lettering I used on this Artist Trading Card suits the Maryse Carrier stamp, don't you think?

It was coloured with Prismacolor crayons.

Spot on

Lady bugs, as my English mother used to say, are "spot on".  That means perfect.

This Artist Trading Card features a stamp from Maryse Carrier coloured with Prismacolors.  The ball and sticks lettering is hand done.

One Christmas Card at a Time

I've been watercolouring a few more Christmas cards, and I'll get them all done one card at a time, I guess! I'm sorry I can't give stamp credits for all of these stamps - my sister kindly sent some stamped images that I've been using.

Beach Memoirs

Inspired by a Hero Arts video on coloured pencils, I created this Artist Trading Card.  The turtle stamp is by Maryse Carrier.

Just Another Card

This is a very simple card using pencil crayons and scrapbook paper to decorate a very strong design.  Not my own, obviously; I've seen this idea used a few times.  The scrapbook paper makes a "shelf" for the vases to sit on.  The vases are coloured using tones in the scrapbook paper.  Stickles add some "bling".

Once Upon A Time......

The themes for the January swap at the Vancouver Artist Trading Card group were purple, turtles, and beginning. 

We swapped at the Richmond Art Gallery this month where there is a display of ATC's on at the moment.  It is on until January 22 - if you're in the area and enjoy ATC's it is definitely worth a visit!

Card Style

A couple of weeks ago, I did a quiz to determine my card style.  The quiz can be found in the new Card Style publication by Paper Crafts.  I haven't been able to find it near me here in Canada yet, but you can get a sneak peek and take the quiz here.

Although I wasn't surprised to find out that my style is "clean & graphic",  I've been thinking often about the various styles and analyzing pictures of cards when I see them.

A few weeks ago at our local stamp club meeting, one of our very talented members, Heather, gave me a card that I adore.  I know now that the reason I love it so much is that it is "clean & graphic".

I shamelessly CASE'd Heather's card and came up with these.  The vases are pieced with Origami paper, the flowers coloured with alcohol markers.
