 I had a stab at digital collage the other day.

Melinda was my great grandmother.  I used an Android app called PicsArt to create the collage from a neighbourhood photo, a gelli print and a photograph of Melinda.

The last pocket is full and I have posies to spare for other journals.  What a fun class this was - Joanne Sharpe's Art Sparks 3!:  Pockets full of Posies.

Art Sparks 4 started today and I have lots more of Art Sparks 3!:  Pockets Full of Posies still to post.  The big book is all finished, though.

Good Thing I Saved That!

 

It feels SO good to use those old scraps of watercolor play.  That's not garbage, that's an "art bit"!  And it makes a rather unique vase-pocket to hold some posies.

Interactive and Never Finished?

 

My book from Joanne Sharp's third pandemic class:  Art Sparks 3!:  "Pockets Full of Posies" may never be finished.  Many of the flowers lift out of the pockets and it is such fun to sit and move the flowers around from page to page, creating new bouquets and arrangements.  I could always add some pen work too....

We've been painting some new, and using some old "art bits"  in Joanne Sharp's third pandemic class:  Art Sparks 3!:  "Pockets Full of Posies".  This grass pocket is a gelli print from my stash.

Summer

 

I have finished the book project from Joanne Sharp's "Art Sparks2" class.  This is the cover.  

The book form is a concertina or accordian book, and here is one side of the book opened completely.

This is the other side of the book.

I'll post some more pictures of each page separately - you can also turn the pages like a regular book.  It is a fun form, not one that I use a lot.  I'm really enjoying this one though!

Connecting to Creativity with Collage

The next class I took at my virtual art retreat was with Veronica Schander, who is a certified SoulCollage facilitator.  (I can't adequately describe SoulCollage in my own words, so please follow the link for information.)

We began by making a SoulCollage card, following the instructions found here.  Then we wrote about the card, completing the sentences "I am One Who",  "I honor" and "I give the gift of".

We then used this as inspiration for some art.  Here is mine:

SPRING

There is new life ahead.

"The 20/20 Visionaries Oracle Deck is a collaborative project started in the year 2020. Artists and friends are invited to create 3x5 cards to be part of an ever-growing deck of oracle cards to be for self-discovery, goal setting and personal inspiration."

This project was started by the coordinator of our local Artist Trading Card Group. This is my first card.
