Dog Days

Ah, the dog days of summer.

 

 



I made a new journal so I could continue working small.  This one is 4 1/2" x 6 1/2".  Then I remembered that I have a couple of 6 x 6 journals in progress.  This is how I end up with so many journals in progress.  Oh brother.

New Challenge Blog

There is a new challenge blog on the net that appeals to me for its name (Art With No Boundaries), theme and the beautiful art work I've seen so far: http://www.artwithnoboundaries.blogspot.com/. It is simply a way to share art work created around a theme, and they have even let me use some art I didn't create originally for this challenge!

The current theme is Ocean, Aquatic, Nautical, and I made this Artist Trading Card recently using some salt and watercolour backgrounds:

Orange Rainforest Dreams

The July design prompts for the Vancouver Artist Trading Card group were orange, rainforest, and dreams.  Here are a couple of my ATC's:

Under the Sea

These started out as salt and watercolour backgrounds, and I added the embossed sand, stamping and other collage elements.  Only 19 more to make!

Finishing the Grids

I was having trouble figuring out what to do with all those grids; all that paper was just too lovely to deface. (Yes, I can still hoard, even if it is cut up and glued somewhere.) Then it dawned on me that this was kind of like a sampler, or a card made with inchies. So, I decorated each rectangle on the grid separately.
