I Might Have Anticipated This...

I'm so taken with these little art deco flowers that I made some hand carved stamps.

Colour Palettes

Changing colour palettes is a good way to extend the life of a series.  I've also used different formats and different media for these art deco flowers.  Most importantly, they are so much fun to do!

And Why Not Cactus?

These are for Janice, who asked "Why not cactus and palm trees?".

They're done in my Fauxdori traveler's notebook.  I'll add journaling in the areas left blank.

A Month in My Journal

Last week at the Westcoast Calligraphy Society meeting we learned how to paint watercolor art deco roses, inspired by Mackintosh and Hunter.   They are fun and meditative to paint.  These were done with a very small brush - 2/0.

It is hard to believe that we are almost at the end of October!  I haven't done too much in my journal, but in the last month I've got a new chair to draw...

....cleaned out my watercolor palette again...

and of course, drawn my slippers once.
