Art Projects for Kids

I'm a big kid when it comes to trying out new art projects.  (I gave up creating art pretty early in my youth, so I'm making up for lost time LOL).  If you feel like some easy, non-threatening projects,  go check out Art Projects For Kids.  Who knew I could draw an elephant?

ATC's for the Vintage Swap

We've recently added some "make art" time to our Vancouver ATC swap, and last month I collaged together some backgrounds to use for more ATC's.  All I had to do was add some random clip art (Lisa's Altered Art, Luna Girls, Dover, and various unknown sources) and I've got more ATC's, this time for the Vintage Swap!

Random Backgrounds - Part 1

These ATC's were prepared for the upcoming swap with the Vancouver ATC Group.  I took backgrounds from my pre-cut ATC box and used stamps to make all of these.  When the backgrounds are already done, this goes quickly!

Collaged Bird ATC

After my initial attempt, I decided to extend my bird collage into a series.  Here is #2:

Touring

When I was cleaning out my Mom's apartment last year, I came across an old "Touring" card game that we used to play when I was a child.  Great vintage collage fodder, although it took me awhile to get the nerve to cut into the cards.

This will complete my recent series of six vintage collage inchie artist trading cards.

Japanese Children's Book

Mel included a vintage Japanese Children's book in my box of goodies.  It is made of nice stiff card, so it makes great inchies.  The images are so precious they speak for themselves.

Stinger

I had enough papers left from the vintage drinks recipe book to make another artist trading card:

Aquamarine Bicycle

The design prompts for the Vancouver Artist Trading Card swap this month are Aquamarine, Bicycles, and Scale.  It isn't often that I can manage to use all three at once, but the different sized circles completed this one.

Vintage Valentines

I remember fondly the Valentines we used to exchange as children, so when I came across these images from Tumble Fish Studio at DeviantScrap.com I knew they would be perfect for Artist Trading Cards:
