Playing with Blind Contour Drawing

 

I'm missing my friend Janice who used to remind me when I didn't blog.  She has been under the weather lately.

My journals have been proliferating again and I was thinking today about possibly indexing them.  Then I realized that my blog has always functioned as a kind of index for me; if so, I better not neglect it!

Truck Meets the Elegant Writer

 

Trucks are my favorite thing to draw (right now, at least LOL).  The Elegant Writer is one of my favorite drawing tools.  It was about time they met.

Drawing Prague

 

I've never been to Prague, but @kimyest on Instagram made it possible with this photo.

I got out the pencil crayons to work in a sketchbook that doesn't love wet media.

@kimyest took this photo on a rainy day in Annecy, France and included it in the #photopaintchallenge.  I chose it to draw because of the interesting foreground figure as well as the lovely buildings.  You can see the photo here.

Venice, Italy

 

I'm having so much fun with these Instagram challenges that I've got two sketchbooks going - one is drying and I can start a second!  They're getting bigger too - this one is 9" x 12".
