Looking again through Julie Balzer's book, Carve, Stamp, Play, I noticed that I could use the stamp I carved recently as a border too! She is so smart.
Our homework from the January Westcoast Calligraphy Society meeting is to use gouache to letter the name of our hometown. After I take these to the next meeting, I might be able to give them away as bookmarks!
Mosaic bookmarks are a great way to use up scraps! These ones were inspired by a lovely scrapbook paper that has watercolor-like blocks of color. Here are the scraps I used:
My sister, Dianne, made some fabulous bookmarks recently, and her use of pattern stamps inspired these. I've used a molding mat by Magenta, which I cut into small shapes to use as stamps. Thanks, Dianne!
