Charles Rennie Mackintosh



 

I read a book called Flowers: Charles Rennie Mackintosh.  Mackintosh was a Scottish architect and artist.  He was the primary artist in the United Kingdom who worked in the Art Nouveau style.

 

I thought that he made up these flowers, but no, the Fritillaria really are checkered!  They are a member of the lily family.

 

 

I love how he interpreted roses.
